Roscoe Meat Market
Do you hear a Bird?
One of my favorite small family businesses has been the Meat Market. The new owners purchased the property in December 2006 and their names are Jim and Amy King of Rockton, IL. I met Jim and the sons, Matt, Luke and Jon. They also have two daughters Hannah and Rebecca.

My son was in from Texas and Hans and I took him to the Roscoe Meat Market with us as you might have guessed to buy some meat. My son does excellent bird calls and all of a sudden you hear a bird singing in the meat market. Luke and his Father John were looking up at the ceiling. Of course they did not see a bird because the bird really stood about 5'11and 1/2". When Jim was going to have the son tear apart the ceiling to look for the bird my son Paul thought a confession was in order. Relief and laughter followed. I think it is great that they were able to laugh and we still talk about that day. I won't be bringing Paul with me next time he is in town but please don't tell him.
Yum! Yum! The Kings have a vision to expand their product line so they can offer fresh seafood. They also want to offer catering services.
I have to say I appreciate that I am greeted when I enter this establishment and a family that works together is special in this day and age. The quality of their product matters to Jim and Amy King. You will find Jim or his sons usually at 5324 Williams DriveRoscoe, IL 61073
