Original Whiner

Ruth Bruegger

I was Born in Beloit Wisconsin in the fall of 1953. The last of 6 girls, that is right, 6 girls. My father told me I was his last hope of having a boy. A week after I was born I went home to Roscoe IL.

I did mix cement with my Dad and poured our own sidewalks. I loved the outdoor work much better then dusting etc.. At an early age I was banned from watching Gunsmoke on TV because I enacted a scene by jumping off my rocking horse with my Gun and hitting my older sister over the head and I tried to break the window. I was only about 3 years old but my recollection is spotty.

I have always had an interest in Art, Writing and Swimming. My banner was shown at Burpy Museum in Rockford, Illinois when I was 12 years old.

I loved and still do love being around unique people and places and I am very interested in peoples lives and belief systems. I will be talking about and showing pictures of the people who fascinate me.

I believe one person can make a difference in this world by their actions. I also believe in a good debate and will not waste too much of my time on people who just slam personally. They never learned how to debate I say. I have a few good friends which I get into pretty heated debates with but we still are good friends. I have changed my mind if presented with actual evidence or if you are able to convince me your argument has merit.

I respect people who go after goals and who are not afraid of speaking their minds. If you follow the croud and don't walk to your own drum I probably will not notice you so you are safe from reading about yourself.

My husband and I have traveled and enjoyed new places and things and are thankful to God that we were able to experience so much. We hope we can make this site one of the most unique sites for the Northern Illinois Area and are aware that it can not happen overnight and that is part of the beauty. The challange of the changes and ongoing updating.

I met my husband Hans through a mutual friend Elif Alseth. He taught flying first at the former Wagon Wheel Lodge in Rockton and then at the Beloit Airport in Wisconsin. Hans and I were friends first and married approximately 4 years after we had met.

It was a good thing that we did meet because you would not being seeing this page. I would never had taken a site building class.
