Unique Living History Museums
From Taste to Sounds
I will be taking you to the Trading Post in Rockton and to the Wheeler House in South Beloit as well as the Rocktons Green Street Museums Annual Rhubarb Fest. We will travel again over to the Auto Museum for a collection is very Unique. Roscoe is starting a Historical Group as I am writing this passage. The Log Cabin which was a gas station when I was a child was recently donated to Roscoe for preservation. I have fond memories as a small child being able to walk to the corner where the gas station is and Archie Reimer was the Owner. He always said well look what has happened someone paid for this candy bar and did not want it. Could you help me out? Needless to say I sacrificed myself to eat the candy. The house was right on the same property and his wife raised Boston Terriers. I couldn't touch the dogs unless she was holding them but at that time I considered it a treat. How lucky I was that they had time to take for a pre-schooler. The Macktown Living History comes alive every year with Pow Wows, Archeological Digs and The popular Gathering. You will be surprised at the Volunteers and their real lives. Hear Ye, Hear Ye, your journey through time will begin soon.
